Cool Brewing fermentation temperature controlling bag
Controlling the temperature of actively fermenting wort has a major impact on the flavour of the finished beer. Fermenting above the desired temperature range can produce fruity off-flavours, esters and harsh fusel alcohols. The typical recommended ale fermentation ranges are 18-24 °C. It is not an easy task keeping an actively fermenting beer this temperature in a warm room. Add in the fact that active fermentation can raise the temperature 10-15 °C for a typical 20 litre batch!
You can keep your Cool Brewing bag cold just as you would keep any cooler cold. Just add ice packs or anything cold to keep reach and keep the desired temperature. A great method is to use plastic bottles of ice. This way you can just refreeze them once they thaw and there is no mess. They also last much longer than ice packs.

Optional Pressure Lid
Add the optional pressure lid and turn your Fermentasaurus into a true uni tank. Uni tanks are conical fermenters used both for fermentation and for carbonating and serving finished beer. The assembly includes a lid with two ball lock connect fittings, a relief valve, and a unique floating pick up tube. This pressure lid assembly turns the Fermentasaurus into the most unique fermenter on the market. Here are some possibilities:
Fermenting Under Pressure:
First one of the most intriguing uses is to ferment under pressure which reduces ester production and fusel alcohol production. That means that you can ferment warmer than you normally would, even making lagers at room temperature. Most commerical beer is fermented under pressure just due to the size of commercial tanks and the pressure that is created by the column of beer. It is one of the differences between commercial brewing and homebrewing. The lid has a built in relief valve that will blow at 35psi and we strongly recommend you also purchase an Adjustable Relief Valve, or spunding valve, that allows you to set a lower pressure. It is also always a good idea to have two relief valves on the Fermentasaurus anytime the unit is under pressure.
Carbonating, Pushing, and Serving:
When you are fermenting under pressure the beer is already carbonated when you are done fermenting. You can control the level of carbonation by using an Adjustable Relief Valve. You can use a Beer Line Assembly to sample at anytime. The idea is that the Fermentasauras can eliminate kegging and you can serve directly from the fermenter. We love this idea but there will probably still be times that you want to keg. Use a Keg Jumper line to connect the Fermentasauras to your keg and enjoy the easiest kegging experience ever. You can also choose to send carbonated beer through a Beer Filter on the way to your keg. When applying pressure with a CO2 tank also make sure that you have a functional relief valve on your CO2 regulator.
Lack of Oxidation
Because the beer always has a CO2 blanket through fermentation and during any transfers out, oxidation is eliminated. When you cold crash you won't be sucking air back in through an airlock.
Safety
The Fermentasauras was developed through a four year process of R&D. It is made from a special grade of PET, has a working pressure of 2.5 bar (35 psi). Additionally every single unit is tested in the factory to 8 bar (112 psi) before being released for sale. The Fermentasaurus needs to be hydro tested, or the PET body replaced, every two years. That test by date is printed on the fermenter. Every unit comes with a set of safety instructions glued to the fermenter. You cannot expose the fermenter to liquids above 120F so for cleaning we recommend Craftmeister Alkaline Brewery Wash which can be used cold. You should also premix your chemicals to the manufacturers suggested dilution before pouring into the fermenter so that you are not pouring concentrated chemicals, such as Star San, directly onto the valve at the bottom.

The Fermentasaurus is a unique, game changing plastic conical fermenter for homebrewing. It is the perfect choice if you want to see your fermentation, dump trub, collect yeast, and even carbonate all in one vessel without any transfers or siphons. Made from clear PET the Fermentasauras offers the classic benefits of a conical shape without the cost of stainless. It will drastically cut down on oxidation by removing any need to rack your beer to a secondary vessel. And perhaps most amazingly it can be pressurized like a keg with the addition of the optional Fermentasaurus pressure kit.
The Fermentasaurus fermenter has a large 35L (9.25 gallons) size that makes it easy to ferment 5 gallon batches. The standard lid has a built in stopper and comes with an airlock. There is a butterfly dump valve at the base of the cone with a 500 ml harvesting container. This makes it very simple to remove the yeast at the bottom of your fermenter without exposing your beer to oxygen. The handy harvesting container also allows you to store the yeast to use on your next batch! The dump valve has been designed so that no threads are immersed in liquid making it easy to clean. Other fermenters will use ball valves that are very difficult to clean without completely disassembling them.
The Fermentasaurus is produced in Australia after four years of R&D. This fermenter is the world's first conical PET fermenter that is pressurizable up to 2.4 Bar (34.8 psi) letting you go from fermenting to serving without having to transfer to another vessel. You also have the option of fermenting under pressure which reduces esters and fusel alcohols allowing you to ferment warmer than you normally would. Mashing, filtering and cooking in one and the same kettle.
This new model includes a welded-on double jacket for cooling, making previous accessories unnecessary and giving you greater freedom when brewing beer. Brewing more complex beers is now easier than ever before. For emptying the waste water there is an additional outlet tap mounted to the tank bottom, which makes cleaning remarkably easy.
The Braumeister PLUS, kept the very clear control unit of the original Braumeister with its larger screen which makes the whole programme visible at a glance. The touch screen with illuminated buttons gives the Braumeister a contemporary look. Programmable to up to ten recipes, including two pre-programmed default recipes; a recipe can contain up to five steps and three hop additions (before the end of the boil).
Even without any brewing experience, with this simple device you can make a perfect wort as a base for fermenting, in only five hours’ time. Just plug it in and start brewing. The various temperatures are digitally controlled by RIMS (Recirculating Infusion Mash System). You can program the entire mashing process with the control unit.

Tests were performed with 72 degree chilling liquor produced 1 gallon of 76 degree wort in approximately 1 minute 25 seconds. With 61 degree chilling liquor it produces 1gallon of 68 degree wort every 30 seconds. Test results were limited by pump output!
